It was my sister's birthday a couple weeks ago so we we made the last minute decision to head up to Palm Springs for Friday night and Saturday. We were able to snag a room at the ACE for Friday evening, and then just relaxed on Saturday (before heading home).
We started off Saturday morning at
King's Highway (the lovely restaurant at the ACE) ... and I ordered the orange-ricotta pancakes w/ a stumptown latte. YOU GUYS. YUM. It's possible that I stood on my seat to get a photo of our lovely breakfasts -- and may have embarrassed our group.
It's fine. ;) Then we just relaxed pool-side until the afternoon when it started to get a little bit cool. We finished up the day by admiring all the mid-century architecture and enjoying way too much Mexican food.
It was a lovely 24 hours... but I need to remember that it's better when you have a full weekend (or better yet - a 3-day weekend) to spend away, and
truly relax. So I guess that's the plan for next time. :)
