Seven hours in SAN FRANCISCO!

So, when the sister and I were en route to our Tahoe vacay, we had a few pit stops. We drove along the coast, which was absolutely gorgeous (proof of that above). Though I've driven between Seattle and Southern CA many times, I'd never driven along the coast... so it was a pretty fun experience. We spent the night in Santa Cruz, and I got to see my dear friend Annie aaaand experience the Penny (ice cream) and Verve Coffee. The following morning, we drove up to SF, and basically just spent the day exploring and eating. Some favorite spots included Blue Bottle Coffee, Heath Ceramics, BiRite Creamery, Gott's Roadside, and Smitten Ice Cream.  YES, we absolutely did have ice cream twice that day. But to be totally fair, I needed to try the salted caramel at both places!!

This last photo is of Smitten Ice Cream, where they use liquid nitrogen (& fancy ice cream machines) to make every scoop to order. The shop is housed in a shipping container, and their ice cream is insanely creamy (since it doesn't have time to develop ice crystals). Anyways, this was definitely a favorite stop!! I'm hoping to spend a little more time in SF at some point soon, but this was such a fun day of exploring. :)

such a tough call… I didn’t get honey lavender, but I’m sure it’s amazing! I think I need to go back and try them both again… ;)
