YOU ARE LOVED // some thanksgiving encouragement

As Thanksgiving quickly approaches and everyone begins to think about what they're thankful for, I am blown away by how blessed I am. Not simply because I have a job that I love and an amazing family... but because of something that isn't situational. The holidays can be such a difficult time of year if things aren't going well- if you're unemployed, lonely, having relationship problems, etc. However, whether it's been a so-so year or a great year, God's love for us is always present.

I don't often talk about personal things on my blog, because it brings about such a deep vulnerability (and hello? religion? super taboo). But I feel like I'd be inauthentic if I didn't mention why I'm so thankful during this season.

We're all messed up. We have problems (most of which aren't highlighted on our pretty blogs). But spend 10 minutes interacting with humanity when you're in a bad mood, and this will never be more clear. None of us is perfect. And yet, Christ cares so much about each and every one of us. He loves us to death (literally).

I share this not to force my beliefs on you. I know that many of you may have your own (entirely different) set of beliefs-- and I completely respect that. But in the chance that one of you is going through a really rough time right now, I want nothing more than to encourage you. To tell you that you are loved (yes- Josh Groban style-- but so much better). I hope that during this glittery holiday season, you'll feel that love. And if you've known Christians who've been hypocritical, shown hate, or been super judgmental, I'm sorry. I'm sorry because that's not a reflection of Christ. His love is unconditional. With all that said, I hope you feel valued and loved this Thanksgiving.. because you ARE!
